Happy August Everyone! I couldn't sit still this past week and thought I better make one more house to sell in miniature sales show coming up in a little over a month here in Denver.
I was inspired by the picture on the right that a miniature artist made of a New York city scene that was built by Kevin D Alenti. I was so inspired that I couldn't stop working on my building and was able to finish it in 7 Days, I think a new record for me.
I dedicated this building to my mom, Mary, thus it is called (Mary's Bakery), since she was always cooking and baking which lead me to love cooking and baking and wanting to be a chef!
The story I have of the building is that an elderly lady named Mary took all her life savings and bought this old run down building in the heart of a big city and is turning it into a bakery, she lives upstairs in the old motel area that came with the building when she bought it. not the best story but!
I loved making my first fluorescent signs out front which I taught myself how to solder the wires which I think the look of the signs turned out awesome, the signs and electrical took 1 day alone just to complete. My second favorite thing is the dumpster I made out of wood on the side of the building. But I also like the little air conditioner I made on the second floor window which was a piece of square plastic from an old toy model and the vent looking things were the tire tracks from an old army tank that I cut up to give the air conditioner a vented look, then painted silver. I hope you all like my newest creation and I hope you all have a wonderful August. Stan
